april fools

hello everyone. i am sitting in my small little cabin in the middle of the woods writing this post on my laptop from 1994. Today was a very relaxing and wonderful day. I fished in the river (I caught a catfish as well as a flounder! oh boy! a yummy dinner tonight!), played hopscotch in the forest, and sharpened sticks on my porch. all in all, a very successful day if i do say so myself. Tomorrow i plan on skipping rocks, hunting wild gazebos, and building a bid house for my pet artichoke to live in, but we shall have to see if i succeed. I just thought that I should update you all on how my life in isolation is going, and as you can see it is going swimmingly (literally and figuratively! a few months ago there was a flood and i had to swim for miles to retrieve the local newspaper!). I hope you all are doing well in your lives in civilization. Have a nice night!

april fools. i dont know why i wrote that..........

Easley is the worst place to ever go to in your life

you lose at bowling
you get shot
you get hit with many water balloons in the freezing cold
you get caught by the cops
and
you get hit with pee bombs

JUST KIDDING!
Easley's alright i guess, as long as you have cousins there. And, lucky me! I do happen to have cousins there! So then Easley is awesome!

I went to Easley not too long ago, Six days ago i believe, to spend some quality time with my South Carolina cousins, soon to be my Utah cousins, even though really they will always be my South Caroline cousins, even if they live in Utah, which they will before long.

So when we arrived it was awkward, as usual. But not quite as awkward ad it normally is. Awkward non the less.

Then it started to snow so we (mainly mck) started planning to play in the snow the following day. Except it quickly turned into rain. typical easley.

That night we also played Munchkin, which i hear is a great game, not that I would know cause i still don't entirely understand it. whatever, i played myself in checkers twice and solitaire.

Then we went to bed around 3ish? i think.

The next day we woke up at twelve. no exaggeration. 12:00. noon.

We bought some guns, fought with them, and set off grenades. pretty rewarding stuff.

We also headed out to go bowling with the great bowling herself, GRANDMA! She told us to aim at the middle. And if you aim harder than the pfffttt will be more. It was fun anyway. (even if in the first game i only got a 39 :/)

That night also happened to be new years ever. So we did the usual stuff, drank sparkling cider, watched the ball drop, said that we were the first to ___________ in 2010.

OH YEAH! and we had a waterballoon fight. in the freezing cold. i didnt do very well seeing as i got hit many times. it was fun anyway.

we also had a rave that night. complete with glowsticks, fratmusic.com, and a scared cat

on our last full day we used up our morning very productively. we made a gingerbread house. except it tasted like cardboard :( but it was very pretty. sorta. not really.

we hung out for a while, not doing very much at all.

until that night. we had out second gn fight even better than the last. if that's even possible. it made me almost want to join the army until i realized that we were usinf caps. not bullets. and my cousins dont actually want to kill me (i hope!) then we set out on a geocashing adventure. We went to a park and we SOOOOOOOO close to finding the geocash when the cops came (actually the park ranger) he said that they were closing so we had to leave. except there were too many of us for the car bt we didnt care cause we broke the law.

then we went to find another geocash. near the walmart. and we were successful!!!!! yippeee!! there was a car some crystal light and other stuff i dont remember. we put in dead caps. then we went to find a sketchy geocash. on some sketchy hill. and we were not successful. so we went into walmart for no apparent reason. we found some cool stuff (including harry potter clue!) and then left. (obiously, we weren't going to stay in walmart for our whole lives) we went to find one final geocash in a field, but as soon as we got there we saw a police car so we didn't want to risk it. so we went home.

there we stayed p playing gravity, and watching craig. then we went to sleep.

the LAST day we tried to find that oneeeee geocash, but again failed :( we shot our guns a few times. and left on the long journey home to VA.

i already miss you guys. and wish that you weren't moving so far away. you know what? i think we should just get rid of kentucky, and Missouri, and kansas, and colorado. they arent doing mch good anyway...

so i miss you guys and can't wait to see you...sometime.....eventually....maybe....... WHO HA TOE!

XC

yesterday was said to be "one of the greatest days in BIXC history".
Haha, anyway, yesterday was a pretty good day.
I went to school.
Went to 1st period.
Went to advisory. (homeroom)
Then I LEFT!!
I had a XC meet about 3 hours away so we got to leave very early :)
So we rode on the bus for three hours.
I sat in the front with the coaches.
We got a charter bus because XC is priority at our school. JUST KIDDING! I'm not quite sure why we got a charter bus...
So we got to watch a movie!
About how running a marathon is a life-changing experience.
One of my coaches ad just run a maarthon.
the movie was better than i expected. I got pretty into it, especially when the Kenyan guy, daniel something, lost :(
all in all it was rather inspiring and got me pumped.
When we finally got to Newport News we were very early. So we got to hang around for a long time.
Then we finally raced.
I dont really know details. i wasnt really paying attention i was just running.
I ended up getting 10th overall in JV.
OK, but good cause i got a medal :)
Other Ireton JV girl runners got 4, 6, 7, and 8.
Some JV boys got 1st, and 4th
SOOO.. as a team JV girls got 1st and JV boys got either 1st or 2nd.
When i took off my spikes and gross wet socks i discovered that my already gross toenail was on the cusp of falling off!! so i had to tape it up (by the way, if you wanted to know, when i got home and took off the tape it came off :P)
After that i managed to catch part of the Varsity girls race. Our top runner got 4th and some other people placed top 15 (a lot were like 16-19 but top 15 gets medals) They ended up getting runner-up (2nd)
Then the exciting one... varsity boys!
We got 4 in the top 15, and some others close. One of those four happened to have gotten 1st with a time of 16:37! It was still gonna be close though.
At the award ceremony they went through JV, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys Individual.
They said the 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th, and 3rd teams.
"And now, the virginia state catholic cross country runner-up is................................................."
"penninsula catholic1" We bust into cheers! WE GOT FIRST!!
first time in 20 years exactly.
our coaches were on the verge of tears.
so basically we dominated.

.

why hey there! long time no see!
my life's pretty boring. so im not quite sure why im even making a blog post. maybe its because i havent posted in 81 days.
not many other people have been posting much either. so i dont feel too bad.
so.... i started high school. its pretty boring. but ill tell you about it anyway.
its very different from my old school considering my grade has more than 20 people in it. plus theres more than one hallway and we dont have to walk in straight lines and be quiet in the hallway. my schedule is rotating so ill tell you mt B day schedule.
1st period: History: an awesome class. a very good teacher. definately one of the best classes
Advisory: homeroom: the usual
2nd period: gym: my teachers kinda crazy. and we're currently playing football. in case you were wondering
3rd period: Choir: pretty fun i guess. everyone's really good at singing which gives the illusion that im good at singing.
4th period: Religion: surprisingly one of my favorite classes. my teacher is funny :)
5th period: English: apparantly my teacher thinks shes a goldfish.
6th period: Science: my teachers scary, but all around nice
7th period: Algebra: easy stuff. :p
I2 (dont ask): Spanish: another awesome class. senor moglia is awesome ;)

thats it for school. im also running cross country. im definately not one of the fastest runners, but its fun. my goal is to cut 20 minutes off my 5k time :P kidding!
its very fun and for once i look forward to running four miles after school :)

ok.
bye.

hiya

hiya
i'm back on good ol' blogger due to the suggestion of mckenzie
not much going on in my life. my days mainly consist of waking up at 10, and doing nothing of importance until i go to bed at around 11 or 12. or maybe even 1. depending on the night.
prior to these EXCITING days i went on a trip. to arizona. and nevada. it was a pleasurable experience.
on saturday morning i got up early and hopped on a five hour flight to arizona, across the entire continental united states. the furthest west i've ever been. pretty sad. we landed in the vegas airport. even the airport had slot machines. everywhere. we weren't allowed near them. cause its against the law. which is stupid. apparantly if we spend too much time near them we might get some sudden urge to gamble.
then some parents went to get rental cars. and we waited. alot. when they finally came we drove to the hoover dam. which was pretty dam cool. hahahaha. i'm soooo funny! not much to say except it was a big dam. we got to go on a tour and they took us into the dam. and we got to see the turbines and stuff. all in all the hoover dam was cool.
then we drove BACK to vegas. or at least the suburbs of vegas. our hotel was there. we swam in the pool. and the hot tub. and slept.
the next day (monday) we drove 5 hours to arizona to see the grand hole in the ground (canyon)! it was amazing!! my friend, elaine, almost fell in within the first five minutes of us being there. but she didn't. luckily. i can't even begin to describe it. it was awesome. there were so many colors and its true that pictures can't capture everything. we would go out on the ledges (which probably isn't safe) and dangle our feet off the edge. fun stuff.
in the grand canyon stores (there were many) there was a book called "Death at the Grand Canyon". it told about every recorded death at the grand canyon. ever. and every time i saw a copy of that book i read it. it was depressing. there were so many people who commited sucide and people of ALL ages who died there. none the less, i enjoyed myself.
we spent tuesday at the grand canyon as well. we went on a tour with Oscar, an amazing tour guide. he was native american, mexican, and irish. we basically saw the grand canyon. alot. from different angles and such. it was just as beautiful as it was the day before. obviously. he showed us these cool caves on the sides of the canyon where the native americans would store food. you could only see them from certain angles. it was cool. we also went on a sunset tour that night. it was absolutely gorgeous.
i'm not sure if this counts as monday or tuesday, so i'm not gonna count it as either. it's muesday. i was in a room at the lovely yavapi lodge with two other people, both who were hiking down (i was lame and didn't hike down). they had to wake up extremely early to get out on their hike. i didn't want to be in the room alone (cause that would be creepy!) so i had to get up with them. pack up the remainder of my belongings. and move to another room. all while i was still half asleep. not fun.
on tuesday i woke up (again) and prepared to drive to flagstaff to go to an old mansion. we only had two cars and we named both of them. my car had multiple names: the fart cart (because it previously had a girl named katie in it.... i think you get it) the midnight cobra (because we were the navy car with a a white one and two silvers) and the studmobile (i think that ones pretty much self-explanitory). the other car was know as the silver bullet (because it was ilver..)it was more of a log cabin. but it was still cool. there was some old nice fancy expensive piano in said mansion. one of my friends, julia, had the pleasure of playing it. well, actually we all did, but shes the only essential one to this story. so she was sitting there playing a nice diddy and after she finished this little girl (who was also on the tour) ame up to her and was like "you should come to my friends house, she has a piano!" it was so funny! then julia was playing later and the same little girl came up and took a picture of her! and said "YES! YES! MOMMY I GOT IT!" hahaha. it was cute.
from there we went to casa bonita. (music) casa bonita! casa bonita! food and fun and fun and food! (music) where i had a belicious buritto. even though i only ate half of it... we also went to a volcano. which was awesome. there was lots of hardened lava and whatnot. appararently its a federal offense to take anything (even rocks) from a national park. oops. just kidding!! haha. we told this girl, jana, there were wild boars. she got freaked out. haha. it was funny. then we were GOING to go to the pablo (pueblo) ouins, but we couldn't find them. too bad.
after the volcano we got back in the car (obviously) and i had a text message. so i opened it. it was from my friend, lindsey, who was back in suburban arlington. it said "i heard what happened! are you guys ok!?". now the thing is.. we hadn't heard what happened. so we were all thinking "Did Elaine fall off!?" that is actually what we were thinking. no lie. the other problem (not the one we didn't know about) was that we were in a dead zone. a terrible dead zone. we couldn't send any text messages, recieve any. call people in arlington. call people in the other car. so finally we got one text message. it said "beth's mom broke her leg" beth is a girl who was hiking. and so was her mom. ok.. so elaine didn't die.. but STILL! we started trying to get the other car to pull over so we could tell them. we had walkie talkies, but julia, who was in charge of the other car's walkie talkie couldn't find it. she had been sitting on it. finally they pulled over and we told them the news. both cars took off again. so.. we were both trying to figure out what exactly had happened, if she was ok, ect. when the unthinkable happened. the silver bullet got pulled over. they didn't have a license plate. when the cop came over they were just spilling out things like "girl scouts... grand canyon.... broken her leg.. rental car.." and the cop said it was ok. luckily. after an exciting day we had dinner in williams and the route 66 diner.
the next day we drove to Sedona. we ate and shopped. which is apparently all you're supposed to do in sedona. i didn't get anything. but we did see a couple wild boars hahahaha. (see previous paragraph) they were painted and spread out in the town. we also saw a man dressed in a purple robe and crocs with a long white beard listening to his ipod and walking around the town. when we got back to williams the hikers had returned! they told us stories and whatnot about the awesome time they had. now i will proceed to tell you the basic outline of what they told us.
they started hiking really early (but you knew that)
they hiked for awhile. most of the group was ahead.
some random hikers told them someone with long blonde hair was hurt, they thought she broke her leg.
they went back
there were people in orange shirts setting up tents
they were some random hikers who also happened to be members of the coast guard
the person who got hurt (Mrs. Clark) had to be airlifted.
it was free cause it was an accident
free helicopter ride over the grand canyon!! (its usually ALOT of moola)
two of the coasties hiked half way dpwn with them.
they got half way down
one of the mom's was over heated
a ranger forced her to stay in ice cold water up to her neck
she was fine
they came back
the end.
so thennnn we went out to dinner. i had spinich tortellini. it was delicious. the resturant we went to had the best pie ever. i split a piece of cookies and cream with two other people. i was amazing. we swam in the hotel pool and made a whirl pool and a wave pool. fun times.
on thursday we drove to vegas. not very eventful. basically we sat and drove. when we got to vegas it was sooo cool! we did a driving tour of the strip before arriving at the MGM GRAND! it was really nice!! and it was only $70! their pool was so nice. or actually their POOLS were so nice. there was like 6768576 of them! we also got to go see the lion king. it was amazing! the costumes, the voices, everything!! over all vegas was really super cool!
on friday we had a really good buffet breakfast and basically left. we got home at like 11:30.
ok.. that took wayyyy too long. if you read the whole thing you are really super awesome! if you didn't.. i don't blame you. haha.

anna

p.s. you may notice the firther you get on my vacation the worse the paragraphs get.. i was getting tired.

More Theater Fun

Opening weekend was pretty good, other than the fact that the sound malfunctioned during one of the songs... It's fun being on Tech, we always dance around and sing the songs. The next thing coming up in my life is..... MORE THEATER!! i should really get some different interests. so on monday I auditioned for the Jungle Book. I got a callback a few hours after I got home. It was even more exciting because not everyone had auditioned yet!! They have auditions on monday and Tuesday and I heard on Monday. I also auditioned for tech, and I put it as my preference, but like 35 people try for tech and only like 8 actually get on so i don't know. Tomorrow is brush up and callbacks so it should be fun!
